The 2021 Osage Foundation Collectible Christmas Ornament is a copper-plated and 3D ornament commemorating the Million Dollar Elm. Located east of the present Osage Nation Tribal Museum at Pawhuska in Osage County, Oklahoma, the Million Dollar Elm was the site of public oil and natural gas lease auctions that began in November 1912. Because of the tremendous wealth that traded hands beneath its limbs, the tree became known as the Million Dollar Elm. Each year, a new collectible ornament is designed that is relevant to Osage Nation history and culture so that a grand tradition and collection can be passed from one generation to the next. Each ornament comes in its own elegant gift box, including a historical note about the ornament’s design. The tree illustration in the ornament is designed by Osage artist Jessica Harjo. This ornament is the 10th in the collection.
